The idol of Chhina Mastaka, the killer of the demon Nishumbha, is in the Chintpurni Temple. Revered by the Hindus in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, the goddess Chintpurni is known as the remover of all troubles. Crowds, however, are all the greater during a ten day fair held here in the month of August each year.
