1st Day :
Dharamshala/Palampur/Baijnath to Bir Khas (1600M) .... 65/25/10 km
By bus, Palampur is delightful place in the main Kangra valley surrounded on all sides by tea gardens. Neugal Khad (Brook) is an aweinspiring Chasm. There is a tea factory and Tibetan Campus at Bir. Baijnath is famous for ancient Shiva temple.
2nd Day :
Bir Khas - Rajgundha (2250M) .... 15 km
(Bir - Billing - 9 km; Billing - rajgundha ... 6 km)
Billing (2600 M) is the venue of the Hang Gliding competition in Kangra Valley.
3rd Day :
Rajgundha - Palchek Deota (2730M) .... 9 km
Good camping ground. The route is dotted with tea shops - only in season.
4th Day :
Palchek Deota - Panhardu Got (400M) .... 9 km
Cross over the Thamsar Jot (4,665m), an exhilarating view of Kangra Valley and glimpses of magnificant peaks in wonder, Lahaul & Ladakh area are obtainable.
5th Day :
Panhardu Got - Bharpal Got (3940M) - Thamsar Jot (4710M) .... 6 km
This is a gradual pass and can be covered easily. This Pass divides Chhota Bhangal and Bara Bhangal.
6th Day :
Thamsar Jot - Bara Bhangal (2541M) .... 15 km
Bara Bhangal with an area of 290 sq mailes has only one village at the lowest point at 2,575 metres of the valley, inhabited by Kanet families of Gaddi tribe. From three sides of the valley rises snow peaks ranging from 5151 to 6060 metres.
